Hi all,
I'm looking for some touch sensors, to put in a costume, to work with MAX.
I'm building the whole thing with microcontrollers, and it's going to be no
wires, so I-Cube is not an option. Do anybody know where to find this kind
of sensors? Flat and small ones?

Just in case it works better for any of you, I've put both
the full Max 3.5.9-9 installer (minus the demos) and the
Max 3.5.9-9 updater on the cycling74 FTP site. You can
access them via this link:

Note that these are the *Opcode* versions, not the Cycling '74
bundled versions. There isn't an update for the bundled
version, and presumably all bundle customers have a CD-ROM.

I don't know if this is the right adress, I'm hoping it is.

I recently started using MAX on a friends system who wanted some help
understanding it and what it can do. He's kind of basic in his
midi/audio
production knowledge and has just moved so I don't know where all the
materials are for his system!

I've been going through the tutorials and I noticed some descrepencies
between objects I see and play with and the objects in the documentation

mainly with midi syncing. I see the object "timein" with it's
respective inlet/outlets, but it does nothing when set up properly. No
output at all even though OMS
is seamless throughout other applications. The only object that seems to
respond to Midi time code (or is itclock?) is an object labeled "tcin"
in the midi section
and this only outputs the time in bit rate! Not only that but I can't
find any documentation to go with this object!

Any help would be appreciated. I'm working through the tutorials and
helping him gradually but before we go any further I just want to make
sure that we
have a solid established link between cubase (VST vr. 4.1) and max.

If you are running a "slow" PB G3, one solution may be the "Capsure"
card from www.irez.com.
It's only 100 bucks US, and I ordered it through outpost.com. It's
fairly reliable, I haven't had occasion to use it in performance yet. It
works well, and it has an S-Video and composite input. I assume everyone
discussing this is using either the "o-12", "nato...", or Singer's
"VideoIn" objects. Any others???

Michael
I use my own system without attachments to body & the movement is inside of
a multi dimensional space which gives direct midi relative to the small
gestures or big gestures. I believe that it allows for emotional expression
through movement but that of course is in the eyes of the beholder. i.e. It
does what I want. It is highly sensitive and a challenge to master which I
really enjoy....I have a video if you are interested.
The concept was featured at leading museums for modern art in Denmark over
the last year in my interactive room installation titled "THE COIL" (Circle
Of Interactive Light )- It was used in the Scandinavian Center Of Digital
Arts (SCODA) in my one man show "Behind the Wall". The latest work with the
system was performed in New York in September and it will also be shown at
the ITU conference in Geneva next week (Oct 10 - 17th).

i want to track the movement of a dancer to generate midi-data to feed it

but how to do it?
i finally thought on small cordless ultrasound-transmitters attached to some
parts of
the dancers body
(feet, arms, chest, head). the transmitted signals should be detected by 3
or 6
ultrasound-receivers which
should output the current carthesian-coordinates of every transmitter (maybe
even the
relative distances of the transmitters to each other an to the receivers).
i-cube or AtoMIC(ircam) or sensorlab or sth. else should then transform
these
analogue signals into midi-messages.

any information, hints, tips and answers to the problem of tracking
movements are
urgently welcome!!!!!
