Oh god I downloaded this crap (again).
When the idea of excommunicating Antiorp first arose I felt the knee jerk of
restricted speech. Well now I have a couple of words to say to her and
whoever posts her tedious bullshit. FUCK OFF.

John and others,

While I can understand the frustration of all of this, please refrain
from responding to the latest dump of anti-matter. I'm working on a
solution that will (hopefully) put an end to this once and for all. It
should be up and running soon. Responding to this stuff on the MAX
list only gives it credibility it doesn't deserve as well as adding
fuel to the fire. Thanks for your patience.

Sincerely,

Chris

Subject: MAX list is now moderated

Greetings MAXers,

It has finally come down to it. The MAX list is now a moderated list.
This means that every message being sent to the list will go through me
first for approval.

I really didn't want this (I have better things to do with my life than
filtering emails), but antiorp and gang have left me with no choice.

For the most part, this will mean no real change to how the list
functions. To those that post messages often, you will get a notice
stating that your message has gone for approval. Once I 'ok' (usually
within an hour or so) it will be posted to the list.

Some people might be offended at this course of action, and I'm sorry
that this has turned out this way.

If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm all ears, email me at
chris@music.mcgill.ca.

I will be modifying the max list www pages
(www.music.mcgill.ca/max/listpolicy.htmlspecifically) to reflect the
changes. I'll let everyone know when they are changed (probably this
evening).

Sincerely,

Christopher Murtagh

Subject: lcd patch to make mouse controller

From: jim.y-wood <jim.y-wood@virgin.net>

Hello there,

I'm working on this patch to further a previous work Harmonaton and which
includes my external fourCorners that enables 4 way mixing using the mouse
as a controller. I have for a long time wanted to add a UI version of this
and just about getting round to this now. I'd like to make a UIexternal but
this will take me a long time, so I'm preparing this abstraction using LCD
object. this patch enclosed is a real hack, I wonder if anyone had any hints
on improving it. Using LCD is OK but not ideal, the way I have it redrawing
seems very dodgy.
Id like to make the UIexternal in a same way as LCD is it possible anyone
has source code of this I could have a look at. Examples in Max SDK dont
really explain how to do this kind of drawing.

By the way I just saw Richard Dudas' "eight granulator" in the msp examples
newest rev, I hadnt seen before this is the kind of thing I think this
methos could be good for, great patch.

Any comments greatly appreciated
cheers

Jim Wood
