Hi Rob. You can hide the menubar in Max by putting the following in a
message box and clicking on or bangingit.

; max hidemenubar

And to bring it back, the following,

; max showmenubar

Don't forget the semi-colon.

Max 3.5 Addendum manual page 6, Messages to Max.

The most recent MSP 6.1 updater fixes this problem. I believe
it has filtered to all the mirror sites by now. If you want
to be sure, download from Site 1.

There was also a problem with the MaxMSPPlayPPC3.5.9 in the
initial 6.1 installer and updater that has been fixed. The
problem was that it didn't work at all.

Yes, you can post or even sell MaxPlay-based apps or things.

There is a "message to max" that does this, a message box with something
like ";max menubar 0" in it check in that area of manual havent got it to
hand

Use fullscreen function in "this patcher" object, and by combination of
delayed loadvangs open window up

yeah ive done this, using a Max app. (see later comment)
You can just fire your max app from director command, seems to work fine. In
my case I set Director off screen whilst the Max app opened, in CDrom type
thing, Im sure you can keep Director in the front too, but not sure about
response time to max, you might also have to use MID XCmnds to send data
into Max such as Mouse XY, keeping it all Max probably better if you dont
need FLASHy (ahem) graphics.
About the Max play on web, why not just compile as App, using
AplicationInstaller1.1.1 comes with Max, then you can distribute patch to
any MacOS user regardless of Maxplay etc, a brilliant part of MAx, thanks Mr
Z.
Ive done similar things, trying to use the graphic object in the end i gave
up and used LCD for similar problems, the window is then at least embeded in
patch window. You can gt my app from here

good luck

Try this:

max v2;
#N vpatcher 54 25 462 200;
#P message 154 43 119 196617 \; max showmenubar;
#P message 11 43 114 196617 \; max hidemenubar;

Subject: problem getting audio in on G3 powerbook

Hi all,

I'm recently started using a G3/266 Powerbook for MSP, and noticed that in
MaxPlay and my standalones there is no way to get audio input (the dsp
status window shows "default" as the input source). Even the Sound control
panel tells me that there are no input devices available, not even the
built-in mic, CD or external jack. I can't tell if it works in the full
version of Max itself because there's no floppy drive and I can't
*#^*$@&!@#$ authorize it.

(An aside note: Pace and Opcode can go to hell if they expect me to pay
$200 for a superdrive to authorize software I've already paid for.)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Marcel Wierckx
