Software Synthesis With Csound will introduce participants to the Csound
software synthesis programming language. Csound is a flexible language
that enables the user to generate sounds that are not possible with any
commercially available synthesizer. The course will provide a survey of
a wide variety of synthesis, analysis/resynthesis, and digital signal
processing techniques. The course will systematically move from the most
simple to complex sound design in Csound, introducing all of the Csound
opcodes along the way. Participants will have ample access to computer
music workstations to apply their newly acquired programming skills.
Participants will be given a CD-ROM with Csound, manuals, and numerous
supporting programs.

The Intensive Csound workshop will be limited to 15 participants to
ensure adequate access to the computer music workstations.

The fees for Intensive Csound are $750 for professionals and $500 for
