Todor Todoroff asks:

The Direct I/O audiodriver determines, based on your use of adc~ and dac~,
how many input and output channels it should enable. So reducing the
total number of channels won't increase your CPU efficiency.

I'll try to track down the vector size changing problems soon.

Below is a crude scrubber that I built. It works much better than I thought
it
would. It could be changed to be more like LP scrubbing.

Wow, this one can't go past without a comment.
Why are farmersmanual being slagged off?
One, they don't belong to the list.
Two, farmersmanual are making excellent, radically innovative computer
music
and have been critcally acclaimed in The Wire, Village Voice,
Alternative Press etc.
Perhaps folks who spend too much time coding should listen to more music.

It's a bad situation when important innovators are 'flamed' out of
ignorance and misdirected bile.

"Dear antiorp
....
in 1998 i have organized in Cagliari (sardinia, my original town, now i
live in bologna) two concert about schubert, (i ask to several composers to
make a piece starting from schubert-samples) the concert was very
interesting and the pubblic like it

this year i propose the same and the concert-society tell to me that i can
do an other time a similar things in 1999

so i will make a concert about robert schummann

**i ask to you for a piece of about 10 minutes, based on sample of
schummann music

i am interested in the concept of sampled music so the music of schummann
in any way must be hear (i write it because in the past concerts some
composer (academical-electroacustic) use the schubert-samples only in
theoric way in the music i can not hear the original material.
well write to me , i am sure that i am not clear but i can be mor precise
if you pose to me questions.
last things, the concert society can pay till 400.000 lire (about 400 DM)
for your travel ticket and you can also have an ospitality in Cagliari, so
if you are interested you can come in Sardinia.
The date of the concert is in May , i need the piece some weeks before"
