Subject: am I a legal owner ?

hello again,

this is something else than programming, this is about license and I can
tell you sometimes I have a big mess in it.
when buying my computer as a second hand I got some soft *preinstalled*.
E.g. for photoshop I got everything incl. manual etc. Because I wanted
it. I knew that's there. And I didn't know MAX is also there. So I didn't
ask for anything about MAX. I got nothing and Mr X. is Godknowswhere. Can
I now say I'm a legal owner of a Photoshop when not registrating with
Adobe (I never do it, my small country is out of their support reach) ?
Also am I not a legal owner of MAX when the copy is legal ? I don't know.
I say, I consider MAX a masterpiece and I want to support it - that's why
I want to buy it again. It's worth of it. But have to save money (I said,
it will eat my 4 montly salaries).
I don't know if I'm a legal owner at the time, but anyway I'm gonna use
max further.
Don't know whether I can be a member of this list because of my
confusig-owner-status; don't know whether I can expect some help here.

that's all. thanx.

Subject: Korg 1212 in a MAGMA expander box?

Apologies for duplicate postss...

I recently asked about soundcards that will work with various programs
(SC, MSP, etc.). The Korg 1212 seems to have been the hands-down winner,
except that Digidesign still doesn't (AFAIK) talk to it (yes, we know it
darn well should). I also asked about any of this in connetion with a G3
Powerbook. I just saw an old email about the MAGMA PCI expander box for
the G3 and wonder: is anyone using this combination?

Another question that came up is about Studio Vision and the 1212;
material I've seen says that they work together "via Sound Manager." What
are the limitations of this?

Obviously, as with anyone, different contexts and purposes require
different communications styles. Do you communicate the same way with
everyone in all situations? I think you need to establish more foundation
for this comment for it to be taken seriously.

More !fuk!ng bUllsh!t (pal) here than in cumulative antiorp posts from 93
mailing lists.

How does this work exactly? Suggest a method by which antiorp may try to
survive from his very anti-commercial music via purely telepathic means.
Can Max be set up to do this (I'm a beginner).

Perhaps there is some kind of metaphor going on here, given lack of

For those of you who couldn't decipher antiorp's latest ramblings,
let me translate:

Someone is selling bogus copies of my (antiorp's) CD. (weep)
So we are pressing a new release. Please send us money $$.
Please *buy* the fruits of my work. Please pay me for some
intellectual property I've created. Oh, and by the way,
if anyone is an unregistered Max user who has a bogus copy
of the program and didn't pay for it, I'll be glad to help
you with any problems you might have with collectives.

antiorp =3D=3D kapitalist
antiorp =3D=3D fascist
antiorp =3D=3D hypokr!t

Here's how antiorp writes normally:

zum uv U hav al+readee plasd 1 ordur or hav ment!ond U wud do zo.

Here's how antiorp writes when asking for $$ kash $$:

>>some of you have already placed an order
>>or have mentioned you would do so.

antiorp =3D=3D hypokr!t

P.S. Instead of posting 3 long ramblings that are essentially
the same thing with a few minor changes, why not *edit* your
!krapmattr! before posting?

Does anyone have, by any chance, a beta version of this new cd object (as I
am going to teach a MAX class at this Landesmusikakademie in Heek,
NRW--mainly using PowerMacintosh 4400 machines with internal ATAPI drives)?

Well, I must admit I missed that part of the KlangArt festival.
Besides, attaching an old CD-ROM drive is not a huge problem for me since I
am a proud owner of a Apple 150 drive. But I don't like to carry excess
equipment around (that`s why I'm getting a Powerbook in the first place).

Howdy folks:

I'm new to this list, and the timing couldn't be better.

Tonight at 10:00 PM (Friday, central time) TR-i (Todd Rundgren,
interactive entertainer) is going to conduct a chat session over his
interactive music forum subscription service.

I think tonight's chat is mostly for his new subscribers to discuss how
the new TRTV tuner is working out. I was wondering if any of you belong
to the service. If so, how is the tuner working for you? Any general
thoughts about the service itself? And how was it, going thru this live
chat thing?

I'm a new subscriber to the TR-i music forum and would be glad to
exchange thoughts about this experience.

Howdy folks:

I was wondering if any of you belong to TR-i's interactive music forum.
Last night, TR-i held a chat session (mostly for new adopters) to
discuss any problems with the latest version of the TRTV tuner.

I tried to tune in to the forum using the tuner, but, no such luck.
Hence, there was no way I could discuss problems about the tuner with
the creator of the tuner.

Any ideas?
