Re. the G3 233:

I've the same setup and it works fine. Might be unsupported but there seem
to be no problems, although my AMIII is a recent purchase (used) as well.

I've heard rumours of SPDIF input problems at 48k on the AMIII (and had
them using a G3 266 - but it might have been attributable to the infernal
SCMS copy protection on a DATman).

PS against all Maxlist etiquette, anyone looking for an AMII?

If you make your own standalones, you really should go to Apple
Developer
World:

http://devworld.apple.com/dev/cftype/

and get yourself a unique creator ID for your app. There is no charge, and
you
shouldn't run into this sort of problem. I wouldn't recommend using 4 random
digits, that's a logic bomb waiting to blow. Think different, think ahead.

Dear MAXers!

I apologize for all these hassles which have been caused by the stand-alone
version of Lexikon-Sonate. In fact, I recently changed the creator to
"essl", but maybe some older versions are floating around which do not
reflect this update.

Thanks to Richard Dudas for his advice. I didn't know the trick with the
BNDL resources...

Anyway, the stand-alone version of Lexikon-Sonate is dedicated to people
who do not work with MAX. For us MAXers, the MAX-patch of it is included in
my "Realtime Composition Library" which can be downloaded from:

        http://www.essl.at/works/rtc.html

Cheers, and happy MAXin'

Hi Chris,

I do also run a G3 with AMIII and ProTools 4.
At the first time we had similar troubles with the SoundDesigner.
2 Points to check solved the trollbe. First we get SD 2.83 which is
combatible with OS8
Second the SD only gets the AMIII if it is NOT used by the MAC
Sound-manager (Only this version with OS8, as far as I expirenced),
otherwise You get the messsage: could not get DSP.

The PT4 does not show this problem here, but another serios one: it deletes
fade files and even SOUND-FILES. No mistake, I watched it carefully.

I also had 'Machine Not supported' by the DigiTest software, it seem to be
true, shame, shame, shame.

Also like to discuss " Sorry for this slightly off topic post". In my
oppinion it is O.K. to diskuss topics slightly beside MAX, because most of
us are composers and we do our work by using many software and hardware,
one important part might be MAX, but our work is alltogether now.

So to me it is highly recommended to ask for troubleshooting, Opcode
Studio4, AMIII, G3, Harddisktrouble and so. We need it all along with Max,
agree ?

(to a certain off-point one should mail directly of course)

best wishes Andreas

Thank You for this clear and detailed advice, it really helps to get rid of
this pain with many other standalone apps ! Of course the main part is to
avoid it in the making of apps.

completely agree.

all the best
