Subject: PowerPC version can't read old format files

Greetings all.

Sorry to re-ask something just covered a couple weeks ago but,...
since the (much appreciated) archived-digests aren't quite up to date, I
will anyway.

I am receiving the error: PowerPC version can't read old format files

...and there are no old format files to be found. A couple patchers have
already refused to re-open so I really need to get this fixed asap.

what to do?

many thanks,

This brings up a related issue: There should be a way to extend the
number of categories in the object list, e.g. to include categories for
MSP objects. Apparently this is not possible to do, or do anyone know a
way around???

By the way: Max 3.5.9 can be downloaded from

(seperate OS 7.x and OS8 versions). You got to be aware that (at least
with OS 7.x) the 3.8 authorization doesn't work with 3.9: You have to
insert the floppy disc each time (or order a new authorization disc for

hello there,

I have a good "audio-engine-stuff" at my disposal : ROLAND - VS 880

Does any body had done something to drive this device (or smthg else like
using Max ?

I'm going to try to do smthg with that.
I think it can be a good complementary tool for Max and MSP, since the power
PPC (even if G3) is not enought avoiding audio latency in real time

Is ROLAN -VS 880 a kind of 'SMDI-compatible' device that can be connected
Macintosh via SCSI and be drived with _msd_ ?

thanks in advance for peaces of advices .

What is the cheapest way to send controller information to the
5 options of control that the Martin Roboscan 812 have?
