Ben Thigpen didn't say the presets disappeared, he said the
*subpatchers* disappeared. He's right, they disappear. The
problem is that Max never saves a subpatcher if it's locked,
because that means (in the context of Max) that it was loaded
off the disk as an abstraction. Since all subpatchers are
locked in Maxplay by definition, it follows that Maxplay will
never save any subpatchers. I'll change this in the future
so that the test consists of looking for the word "patcher"
or "p" in the box, rather than testing to see whether it's
locked. Since, I may also want to make it possible to edit
abstractions eventually.

Why does Save even exist in Maxplay? Because people wanted to
save presets.

Subject: full-screen video

Hi all - I'd like to be able to control full-screen, 30fps video using
the QuickTime object in Max. Not just trigger playback, but go to
specified frames, change speed, etc. I want to do a kind of granular
synthesis with video. I've had one report that this might work using the
MiroMotion 30. Anyone else?

Does anyone have any idea whether it would work using Firewire/DV? I.e.
could you get it to send a DV stream out a Firewire interface to a DV
camcorder for display? How?

BUYO-BUYO-IGOR writing,
I'm building an virtual orchestra on my web-site.
http://www.mars.dti.ne.jp/~buyobuyo/songs/one.html
This page has some simple fragments for this orchestra's standard "Song
No.1".
The idea is to have a bunch of links aimed to files on other people's
site...this file can be anything (midi,csound-thing,max-
patch,aiff...etc) but have to have relationship to what is mentioned as
key fragments.
Would someone create files for this orchestra?
thanx
