Take the right tool for the right job. There are zillions of ways to get
a PICT from Video in. Save to QuickTime, export a frame to PICT. Take a
screen shot (but better not when the video is running).

Although there is no reason not to have a videoin object in Max, there's
not a lot of reason to have one (unless you're wanting to do realtime
video processing in Max -- something that, I think, most plain-vanilla
Macs are not yet going to do awefully well).

Cheers,

Peter

Peter and List,

I *think* I'm VERY interested in the polygon object!

Not exactly sure what it does... but I'm looking to have more power on
the graphics side myself. (Damn the help!!! Well, no, help 'twould be
nice.)

thanks,
ctodd

Hi Maxers,

If you have access to the Feb. issue of Mix Magazine, there's
an article about (ahem) yours truly which makes a small mention
of Max. It's the Project Studio page (nice of them to do a
full length article and get my e-mail address wrong...)

It does make mention of some of the aspects of a Technology
named KARMA I have been developing for four years, about
which I hope to release more information shortly. Sorry to
be mysterious...
