Subject: ctlout question

hello everbody

I'm stymied here with the ctlout object.

I want to be able to pan a channel, and hear the pan WITHOUT having to
retrigger the note. (I can do this fine with volume.)

Can anyone shed some light on this one? (Could this be a limitation of
my tone module, Yamaha TG300?)

I have Max 3.5.8, G3/233 w/OS8

thanks,
ctodd

Would someone be willing to share their experience with input to MAX
from a ZETA violin? I'm particularly interested in knowing whether one
needs to "clean up" the data coming from this instrument.

I believe the Zeta is truly a MIDI controller in the fullest sense, so
it should be similar to getting notes from a MIDI keyboard. I
understand that the ZETAs can be a little idiosyncratic, however.

There's also the mysterious (to me, at this time!) subject of portamento
and glissando -- do these come out as a chromatic rip, or does it make
creative use of pitch-bend?

Thank you in advance!
