I'll let y'all know when it's ready, tomorrow (Wednesday)
at the earliest and Thursday at the latest.

Dear MAXers!

Is there a *command* for changing font and font size in a message box?

Cheers,

Subject: math.h in externals

I'm trying to use the sqrt() math function (from the ANSI libraries=20
math.h) in my external code=8Awithout result. It leads to a system=20
crash.
Does someone could tell me what I have to do. I'm still using think C=20
v 7, with native floating-point format checked in the Options Menu=20
(I've also recompiled the ANSI library I use with this option) because=20
it's the only way I've found getting correct things with=20
floating-point numbers. If you can send me a think C project using=20
sqrt() for an external, it will be great!
Thanks.

Jean.

Just a shot in the dark, and assuming you're using a Power Mac, could this
have anything to do with the presence/absence of the extension "LibMotoSh"
which is supposed to tune up math routines for the Power chip? I got mine
from a friend, but I imagine it's available from Apple.

Subject: AIFFPlay/Algorithmic Stream

I've noticed that the old MAX 2.5.2 object "AIFFPlay" is not happy
in MAX 3.5.8 on the PPC. IS there an equivalent object for playing AIFF
files? Where can I download it? I know I could use audio-only quicktime
movies, and will probably just go ahead and do that, but I'm just
wondering, since the old AIFFPlay object was quite convenient and reliable.
By the way, be sure to check out The Algorithmic Stream which is a
continuous, live, Real Audio feed of algorithmic musical projects developed
in MAX. We are always looking for submissions to the project, so if members
of the MAX community have continuously self-generating MAX projects you
would like to have "on the air", drop me a line! The stream is at

http://stream.mcma-east.siu.edu

You need the RealAudio player plug-in. It's free, and there's a
link to it on the Stream webpage.

Cheers!

I believe that date was mentioned as a "tentative" release date. I have to
go back and check but if that information was not clear then I am to blame
for any confusion.... Sorry.
I myself upgraded my computer just to use MSP, so I am climbing the walls
with frustration. This waiting is causing me to play a bit too rough on my
concert model Stoviols... Maybe I need to get out more... Nah!
Anyway:
I'm sure David will announce to the group when MSP is made available for
download. Until that time one can dream, fixate and make endless trips to
The Max Resource Guide, located conveniently at:

Hi

I do not know if this one is the simplest way... I any case, in The
Netherlands there is a people called Rainstick that have developped a Max
patch -MACTCP- which can be used to share information between two Max users
via the Net.

They have also developped an standallone application -MIDIJet- to share any
MIDI information via de Net between two Mac using MIDI Manager.

I cant provide their URL now because I am travelling and my bookmarks are
very far! You can search for them at Infoseek.

Hope this helps!
