You can control external CD play with the CD objekt coming with
MAX. type cd 3 100 means You are controlling SCSI 3 (if there is a
CD-Rom drive), reporting time in 100msec. Type in cd 4 100 for
another drive on scsi 4. Have look in the help file of cd.

works fine. all the best

Mark Dumas inquired after a QTVR object. I would be interested in this
also. I have been thinking about using such an approach with the VNS.
Would be very interesting.

Cheers,

Garth

For the CD player, you should look at Alcorn McBride's CD ThinkRack, which
gives you 1-6 CD players, with onboard scriptable behavior, or else try
various players from Tascam, the latest of which is the 701. All this
stuff is serially controllable via RS232.

As far as the DAT player, I really don't know. there must be stuff out
there for video post houses to control DATs, but i dunno.

For the patcher, it would depend on the unit you go for, and the subset of
its command set you decide to implement. a coll and a serial object might
get you started... I have a pretty good one for the alcorn mcbride stuff.

let me know if you need more detail on any of this, and i can send
datasheets.

Without a frame? If you are referring to no scroll bars or window =

title, then in Max 3.5.x, you can use the window messages to thispatcher
to achieve this. You can also easily zoom such a window to full screen, =

thereby covering the entire screen without any frame.
