Ircam's ftp Max objects and patches directory will not be updated for the
next two weeks as Both Richard Dudas and I will be absent ("c'est a dire"
in Thessaloniki for icmc for those of you who will be also).

You can continue to upload to

 - the contents of which will therein remain until our return

Cordially and respectfully,

Subject: Besse's Haarlet updated archive

Hello MAXers,

The archive of the patch Haarlet written by Philippe Besse was not
complete. I added the missing objects recently. So, you can download it
again. I hope that no object are still missing. Please e-mail me about it.

=46or commentaries or questions about the patch itself you can e-mail to

I remind you that Haarlet calculates the decomposition in wavelet on a Haar
base function (hum, my english is not good enough to describe it,
sorry...). Very useful to analyze a "melody", for instance.

The URL where you can download it is : and then click on Haarlet.

Subject: Objects which take "read" message

I am working on a sound installation project in which I load samples
into a Kurzweil K2500 sampler. The "msd" object works great for SCSI
transfers, however, I need to be able to do the transfers automatically,
i.e. without having to manually choose the soundfiles in the standard
Mac open dialog box. Some objects such as "filein" allow the user to
type the filename so that the file will be automatically opened. But
this is not the case with other objects such as "funbuff" or "msd".

I was wondering if anyone knew of a workaround for this situation.

thanks in advance,

chris morgan
