If you've already installed Max 3.5 onto a hard disk you plan to
upgrade to OS8, replacing the application with 3.5.6 isn't a
problem. The application itself is independent of the copy
protection. The application just *checks* for the authorization, so
it can be freely copied, erased, moved etc. Getting the disk
authorized is the issue. I'm running OS8 on a hard disk that was
previously authorized for Max 3.5 and I don't have any problems
running Max 3.5.6.

There will be a 3.5.8 update available whenever the one person
at Opcode who can touch their web site reappears in the office.
It fixes a Timeline bug.

After I installed OS8, Max asked me to insert the master disk to verify the
installation, but I did not lose my authorization.

I have not tried to de-authorize it.

I have the TCP/IP object so I know it exists - I haven't ever used it
though I wanted to recently for a telepresence aspect for an interactive
dance piece, but I couldn't find any documentation for the TCP/IP object.

Can anyone enlighten the list about this object, functionality?
documentation?

Jukka Ylitalo asked about MAX 3.5 and MAC OS8. I am running MAX 3.5 under
OS8 on a PowerComputing PowerBase 200 without any problems. In fact it
seems more stable than 7.6 - at last!!!

I installed OS8 without de-authorising MAX and did not loose my install.
