Try sending the MTC in and out of a cable on your Studio 3 and looping it
with a midi cable and then setting up the timein object to recieve from that
cable rather than from the main studio 3.

Sorry to repeat a question, but there was no response, so I'm not sure
if it went out or not.

I'm trying to convert ASCII codes to actual text strings in Max.

Does anyone know/have an object to do this?

Or can anyone suggest a way to do it with existing objects?

Cheers

Dan.

I believe Steve Ellison's "itoa" (integer-to-ascii) object does exactly
this. It's in the 3rd party extensions; if not, you can get it from
ircam's ftp.

I have down loaded MAX files from IRCAM with an IBM clone.
What do I need to translate to Mac?

--- A Mac :-)

Seriously, if the files were binhexed (.hqx), then I believe all you have=

to do is transfer then to a Macintosh and run BinHex 4.0 on them. You
might have to restore the file type which is maybe lost on PCs, but then
again, maybe not. If you need to restore the file type, which is 'TEXT',=

it's easy enough to do with ResEdit. I believe the creator type does not=

matter.

Then, you will probably need Stuff-it Expander, as the result will be a
=2Esit file.
