Hi all -

I wish every one on the list a fruitful and joyous 1997. Thanks especially
to everyone who has been kind enough to lend me their knowledge and
suggestions in 1996 - much appreciated.

I am hoping that one of you lucky, lucky new 3.5 owners can tell me if MAX
3.5 will run on an old IIVX which runs an 030 processor. I am hoping that
it is not PPC native only because that will mean some serious cash to lay

On the issue of upgrading MAC's - has anyone tried a Powerbook 1400. I
sounds like the bees knees, especially with the CD-ROM drive inbuilt. I
would like to use the inbuilt audio chip but have heard it is only 77db S/N
- has anyone tried audio in/out on the 1400 ? and last but not least - I
have heard there may be a 1400 coming with a PCI slot (that will have to be
pretty small) and wonder if anyone has heard the likelly hood of a
Digidesign AudioMedia III or similar card for the 1400.

My other option is to spend a lot less and get a 520. Does anyone have
things to say about that machine. I am hesitant to do this because I
realise that everything will be PPC native very soon and so buying a 520
now is a bit of a missnoma.

All thoughts, experiences and ideas would be gratefully recieved.

Thanks, Garth

You have a correct address and I'm getting the same message.
I'm glad all of us have "abused" this ftp site, I was beginning to feel
a bit guilty.

I recently purchased an ICube. I am enjoying learning to work with it and I
recommend it to others. One problem that has arisen is that my MTP II
seem to transmit the SysEx messages from the digitizer to Max. No problem at
all with my old Translator Pro. No problem with the MTP II and other
Any one with ideas about this?

Subject: 3.5 seq playback features

Can anyone in possession of Max 3.5 tell me about its improved sequence
playback capabilities? As I squint at the improved feature list, I see
something about it being able to load type 0 _and_ type 1 files, and
something about a Detonate object. Seq isn't doing it for me. More info
would be appreciated.

BTW, Opcode told me (while I ordered my upgrade yesterday) that they
wouldn't be sending any more updates out until next week, because of year
end inventory taking.

Thanks in advance...
